Protease enzyme has E-Number 1101 which can by obtained from animal or plant. A Green Dot on the package of food product in India indicate it is from plant. A Halal or Kosher symbol on food product in USA/Canada containing protease enzyme indicates it is from plant source and Halal.

Amylase is an enzyme that breaks down complex carbohydrates into simpler sugars and is commonly used in food processing. The permissibility of amylase (E1104) would depend on its source and production process. If amylase is derived from halal sources, such as plants or microorganisms, and its production process does not involve any haram ingredients or methods, then it would be considered halal. However, if amylase is derived from haram sources, such as animals not slaughtered according to Islamic dietary laws, or if it is produced using haram methods, then it would be considered haram.

If a claim appeared on food package “Suitable for Vegetarian” containing E-Number 472e the it means the E Number 472e is from soy fat. The food product is Halal if all other ingredients are Halal
